I've always felt there is a gap in traditional medical care and how we care for our own mind and body. I've been on a self-healing journey and learned to appreciate mindfulness and apply those beliefs into my practice. Pain and fear are never bigger than you, they are you. I will work with women to channel that fear and pain into strength by working with the birth energy and putting pain into perspective. We will also focus on positioning and how body movement will aide you during labor by providing relief and encouraging the process.
I'm excited to facilitate an environment that is comforting to you and brings you into a peaceful, confident, and calming state through labor and birth. I became a doula because I was inspired through a personal experience and I believe in supporting your decisions and your plan for birth.
I live in Dayton, Ohio and love this city! I am an IT Project Manager and fulfill my life in many other ways! I love practicing yoga, reading, and anything outdoors! I have an intelligent, witty, and beautiful daughter. She is the love of my life.
I started this adventure by assisting my sister with the birth of my nephew. This experience left me inspired and passionate about becoming a certified doula and helping other women. I became certified and began my journey through a new chapter in life.
I am a yoga instructor teaching at a few studios in the Dayton area and I also teach prental yoga series. Check my Facebook page or www.dayyogastudio.com for upcoming class information!
I am also a volunteer through the Operation Special Delivery program assisting moms whose husbands or partners have been severely injured or who have lost their lives due to the current war on terror, or who will be deployed , or unable to attend the birth due to military reasons.
